Hike to a legendary hide out
Uthuwankanda is a mountain which is located in Kegalle District. “Uthuwankande Sura Saradiel” who was famous as “Robin Hood of Sri Lanka” was hiding in Uthuwankanda for a while. He fought against British government that ruled Sri Lanka at that time. This historic story is the main attraction of this place. You can join with Trips Lanka on a hike to this famous hide-out place.
At the end of the hike you will see a rock at the top of the mountain. You will have to go through a 90 degree climb up to reach the top. There is two ways to climb this part. One is to trust yourself and climb up without having any help. Second way is to use a rope. We prefer the second. But no offense in following your heart.
After the hike you can take a visit to “Saradiel Village” with us. This is the best place to get to know about the legendary story of “Saradiel”. There is a museum that gives some knowledge to the visitors about the area and its history.
Once we are done with the hike to Uthuwankanda, we will take you to Bo Ella which is a beautiful waterfall 8km away from Uthuwankanda. There you can dip in cool water and have a river bath. It will refresh you washing away all your tiredness.
