Get lost in the blue waters
Hikkaduwa is another Marine National Park in Sri Lanka. Hikkaduwa is situated in down south coastal margin and this marine park contains a fringing coral reef of high degree of biodiversity, giving you a lifetime experience at snorkeling. This marine park is home to 60 species of corals and 170 species of reef fish, a number of species of sea turtles and other sea creatures. Hikkaduwa has its fame all over the world among travelers for its attraction of corals. Snorkeling is not essential to see some colorful fish in the shallow waters of Hikkaduwa. This area has developed in to a fine tourist area because of its popularity among local and international travelers.
We provide you snorkeling equipment and also life jackets, life guards and boats, in case you want to enjoy a boat ride to the sea. Most of the boats contain glass bottoms that shows you the sea creatures and corals in the sea water. But of course snorkeling will be the most exciting way to see the beauty in the blue sea waters. You just have to travel few hundred meters and you can snorkel in calm shallow water to see the true magical colors of the ocean. This is also an ideal place for underwater photography as the water is calm. November to April is the best time to visit Hikkaduwa.
